Spurs boss AVB determined to beat Man Utd for Real Madrid's Coentrao

Tottenham and Manchester United are chasing Real Madrid fullback Fabio Coentrao.

The Daily Mail says Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is competing with United for Real Madsrid's Coentrao.

Villas-Boas was keen on bringing the Portuguese left-back to north London as part of the deal which saw Gareth Bale move to the Spanish capital, but an agreement could not be found, while United ran out of time to complete a season-long loan deal for the 25-year-old Portuguese.
