Spurs at back of queue for Real Madrid's Portillo

Tottenham are well back in the queue in their bid to land Real Madrid striker Javier Portillo.

Spurs, Olympique Marseille, Nantes and Benfica have all registered their interest for Portillo, who is being made available for outright transfer by Real Madrid.

However, it is interested Spanish Liga clubs such as Malaga and Real Zaragoza which are favoured to clinch the U21 international.

Those close to Portillo's camp say the youngster favours staying in Spain, preferably with a club which will be playing European football next season.
