Spanish Press: Real Madrid Consider Ronaldinho Move

Sport.es suggests that Real Madrid could be weighing up the prospect of an audacious Article 17 move for troubled Barcelona star Ronaldinho.

According to Sport.es, there is a chance that Real Madrid could make a shock move for Ronaldinho under FIFA's Article 17 governing transfer rules.

The 27-year-old could potentially leave the blaugrana - after a hefty legal battle - under the new ruling, which means that players until the age of 28 must honour just three years of a lengthy contract; those over 28 must do the same for just two seasons.

Consequently, Sport.es believes that the capital side are monitoring Ronaldinho's current travails in Barcelona with fervour.

However, this remains mere paper talk. Real Madrid's sporting director Pedja Mijatovic, of course, recently claimed that there'd be no room for Ronaldinho in the Bernabeu squad.

Robinho has the left-wing position sewn up, while Raul and Ruud van Nistelrooy tend to operate as a central pairing.

Additionally, Real Madrid and Barcelona are generally cordial when it comes to transfer matters, with great care being taken when players - such as Javier Saviola - switch clubs. A controversial Article 17 move could wreck their good relations if carried out badly.

And while Sport.es has taken pains to point out that the likes of Guti and Marcelo would welcome 'Dinho with open arms, surely even they must know that we'll almost certainly never find out for sure.
