Spanish expert: Ex-Barcelona man Robson has no chance at Real Madrid

Former Liverpool star Michael Robinson says Sir Bobby Robson has no chance of landing the job at Real Madrid.

Now a Spanish football pundit, Robinson insists Robson's reign at Barcelona rules him out of a role at their bitter rivals.

Robinson warned: "I have an unbelievable amount of respect for Bobby Robson."

"But bringing in a former Barcelona boss would cause more problems than it would solve."

"Madrid fans just wouldn't give an ex-Barca guy a chance. The relationship between the two clubs is too sectarian and Perez knows that."

"The moment Bobby lost a game at home they would turn on him."

He added: "There is no doubt Bobby Robson is a skilled man-manager."

"But the club need a boss who can do a job for the next four years and maybe Bobby's age is against him."
