Spaniards urge Liverpool to go for Morientes

Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia have both urged Liverpool to bring Real Madrid centre-forward Fernando Morientes to Anfield.

"Morientes has great quality. He always does well in any team," Garcia told Spanish radio.

"He has said that Liverpool is a great option, but everything is a question of hoping."

Xabi added: "Moro (Morientes) can fit into any team, but until things happen we should not be talking every day on the same subject."
