Spain coach Luis Aragones selected 27 players, a group that included Andres Iniesta. Aragones also bypassed Ivan de la Pena and Vicente Rodriguez.
Aragones will announce his final 23-player squad on May 15, the day rosters must be submitted to FIFA.
Spain has exhibition games against Russia on May 27, Egypt on June 3 and Croatia on June 7. At the World Cup, it has first-round games against Ukraine, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
