Shevchenko Not For Sale, AC Milan Say

Adriano Galliani has denied Andriy Shevchenko was available for transfer in a statement circulated this afternoon.

Earlier today reports from Spain suggested AC Milan general manager Ariedo Braida had said that "anything could happen" when asked if Andriy Shevchenko could be on his way out of the club.

Real Madrid are long-time admirers of the Ukrainian star, but they have been told "they will nontheless have a tough time bringing the powerhouse striker to Spain".

Braida also told reporters that the clubs "were not negociating" Sheva's transfer.

"Today players like Zidane can leave Juve for Real. The same goes for Batistuta off to Roma or for Figo from Barça to Real last year".

"Bearing that in mind, Shevchenko's tranfer to Real Madrid is no science-fiction".

"But they'll have to show us the money to get him..." added Braida.
