Sheva approach snubbed

AC Milan have revealed that they snubbed an official approach from Real Madrid for star Ukrainian striker Andrei Shevchenko.

Milan's vice-chairman Adriano Galliani told the Italian media that Real had been in touch on more than one occasion in order to try and reach an agreement for the player but president Florentino Perez had resisted all offers.

Sheva's agent Sandor Varga has now cleared up the situation with regard to the Ukranian striker's future once and for all.

He said: "The situation with Andrei is that everything is fine with Milan now. I don't know of any plan of him moving away from Milan. He has signed a five-year deal."

"There was some problem at the end of the season, but he's since negotiated a five-year deal and he's happy there."

"His family are with him so everything is going well and his injury is not very serious. There are too many good players at Real Madrid but no team!"
