Sevilla Striker Alvaro Negredo Not Considering Real Madrid Return

Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has stated that he has no intention of returning to Real Madrid as he prepares to make his bow at the Bernabeu tonight.

Negredo signed for Madrid in 2005 but never progressed beyond the B team and during successive loan spells at Almeria he never played against Los Merengues at the Bernabeu, meaning tonight will be his first appearance at Madrid's home ground.

"When I was on loan at Almeria they let me play at home but not in Madrid, I suppose to avoid problems," he told AS.

"Nobody likes being on a team with no chance of playing. It would be a mistake to think otherwise. We'll see. Although Real have control over my future. They can buy me back. They let me go under this condition."

Now the 24-year-old striker hopes his current employers can have a big say in how the league is decided, firstly by showing what they can do against Real Madrid.

"Madrid always impose themselves, especially at the Bernabeu. It's time to show we are great. Although the first two have gotten away from us we will fight for third place [in the league]. We go to the Bernabeu and Barca have to come to our place. We can have a big say in this tight league."
