Sevilla go for Real Madrid, Liverpool target Lugano

Sevilla are ready to battle Liverpool and Real Madrid for Sao Paulo defender Diego Lugano in January.

The Uruguay international is ready to move to Europe in the winter transfer window once his Club World Championship commitments are over with Sao Paulo.

Lugano revealed last month he had an offer from Liverpool in August, while he remains a big favourite for Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

Sevilla trainer Juande Ramos is also keen as he considers Lugano as a readymade replacement for Sergio Ramos, who joined Real Madrid on transfer deadline day in August.
