Sergio Ramos Pleased With Arrival Of Juande Ramos

Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, has today declared himself pleased with the arrival of Juande Ramos and stated that before the former Tottenham boss arrived there was some forgetfulness in the side.

The arrival of Juande Ramos at Real Madrid seems to have done wonders for the team so far, with all of his matches in charge ending in victories and, today, Sergio Ramos declared himself pleased with the new coach.

In an interview with Spanish daily Marca, the right-back explained that Real Madrid, under his namesake Juande, are now more focused now on not conceding sloppy goals.

"I am happy with the change that has been made. Training has been extended and now we work quite hard. It was the right moment to have a change in attitude," he declared.

"Each coach has a different style and different way of working and Juande has changed us because of his style as a coach. He has asked us to work a lot tactically, to not concede any goals, but we cannot not only say it, we must do it. Previously, we failed to remember and our forgetfulness cost us."

"Once you start to not concede goals, the confidence grows. In these last games, aside from the improved coaching, we have shown our true selves in matches. We are going to try and make it last for as long as possible and maintain our concentration. Maybe we were confused at times before."

Indeed, under the new coach they have certainly looked an improved side, and the results have shown borne this, with los Blancos beating both Villarreal and Valencia.

These results, and the change of coach, have served to change the attitude of Sergio Ramos, too, who, a couple of months ago criticised the system they were playing.

Today he was much more humble, and says that he is now working towards the future.

"I am relaxed and I only think about working now. I am well physically and I want to contribute to the team. We must continue day-by-day, soccer is very taxing, and one must not live in the past," he opined.

Aside from his own attitude, Ramos was also questioned about the on-going drama surrounding Lassana Diarra and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, only one of whom will be able to play in the Champions League.

Unsurprisingly, the defender preferred not to choose one of them, but praised both for their qualities.

"I believe they are two players who can contribute many positive things," he said. "It is a matter that is in the hands of the club and they are trying to resolve it. Lass helps a lot in defence and in the centre of the pitch, and Huntelaar is a forward who makes the difference by scoring many goals and helping the team."

Ramos also had a kind word for the man behind him in goal, Iker Casillas, and said they all go through 'good and bad moments', but that he is already back on track, and that is 'good.'
