Senderos Snr: I wish son had chosen Real Madrid over Arsenal

The father of new Arsenal signing Philippe Senderos says he would have preferred his son had signed with Real Madrid.

The Gunners beat Real, Bayern Munich and Liverpool for the Swiss U17 international skipper.

But Sendoras' Dad, Julien, said this week: "Of course I would have preferred him to join Real."

"It is not easy to say 'no' to Real."

"I have been honoured to deal with such prestigious clubs but in England the sporting guarantees were more important."
