Schuster Won't Commit To Camp Nou Lineup

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has cast doubt over his choice of lineup for the Clasico against Barcelona on Sunday after stating that his training-ground XI is set to see change before the big day.

Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro, Marcelo; Sneijder, Diarra, Baptista, Robinho; Raul, Van Nistelrooy.

That was set to be the lineup that faced Barcelona on Sunday night as coach Bernd Schuster arranged his troops for a training-ground practice match, but now the coach insists that changes are more than likely.

In the aftermath of his side's Copa del Rey slip-up at Alicante, which was contested by a heavily-rotated squad, he told the media, "Some players who played in the Copa will play on Sunday, just as some who waited in Madrid will not start at Camp Nou."

Precisely what this means remains to be seen, but it potentially could signal a change to the lineup that beat Osasuna 2-0 last weekend.

There is a question mark over Baptista, for example. The former Sevilla man has been a revelation so far this season, but he could yet make way for Guti, who has recently found himself benched.

Alternatively, Wesley Sneijder could be sacrificed for the veteran playmaker, who played 90 minutes in Alicante midweek.

The final mooted change could comprise experience over youth: Gabriel Heinze could replace the young but impressive Marcelo at left-back.

We'll find out on Sunday for sure.
