As Real Madrid prepare to take on Alicante in the Copa del Rey, coach Bernd Schuster has employed no end of squad rotation in order to keep his troops fit and ready for the Clasico against Barcelona on Saturday.
Bernd Schuster's Real Madrid face Alicante CF tonight in the Copa del Rey, with the German boss feeling confident enough to rest an array of his stars.
The Segunda B outfit will come up against a weakened blanco side at the Rico Perez, with no fewer than nine players being rested by the capital club.
Schuster's opted to include only a handful of regulars out of his usual conclave of players, with the 16-man squad for the Round of 32 tie containing mainly fringe players.
Pepe and Marcelo are the only survivors from the XI that beat Osasuna on Sunday, while Arjen Robben and Guti will hope to make comebacks in this game. The rest of the squad is heavily rotated.
