Schuster demands Cannavaro stay with Real Madrid

Bernd Schuster has demanded that Real Madrid shelve any plans of selling defender Fabio Cannavaro at the end of this season.

The Getafe coach is expected to take over the reigns at Madrid in the summer and has told the club's technical staff that he wants to build his team around the 33 year-old Italy captain.

Cannavaro has struggled in his first season in Spain, but Schuster is convinced he will be better for the campaign and has demanded from Real directors that they resist all offers for the centre-half.
