Schuster Bemoans Poor Finishing

Real Madrid had to be content with a 1-1 draw at Almería despite creating enough chances to win the game and coach, Bernd Schuster has lamented his side’s poor finishing.

Los Blancos captain, Raúl headed the reigning La Liga champions infront five minutes before the break but they failed to withstand the Almería onslaught late on as Pablo Piatti drew levelled with nine minutes left to play.

Despite dominating the game and creating countless chances infront of goal, Madrid were again let down by their ineffectiveness and coach, Bernd Schuster was understandably less than impressed.

“We have let two points slip away and once again, it’s because we were not able to make use of our chances,” he said during the post-match conference.

“We were comfortable in controlling the game but that means nothing because we couldn’t finish off our counter attacking moves when Almería were busy looking for the equalizer."

“We have more than enough quality upfront to kill off a game and to win three points, we have to be able to do that,” emphasized Schuster.

The German-born trainer will have to go back quickly to the drawing board to fine-tune his side before Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus.
