Schalke wrapping up Bosman deal for Real Madrid defender Metzelder

Schalke have struck terms with Real Madrid defender Christophe Metzelder.

Bild says Metzelder's agents met with Schalke officials over the weekend, including coach Felix Magath, to close a Bosman deal for the Germany international.

Metzelder will move to Schalke as a replacement for 34 year-old veteran Marcelo Bordon.

Schalke are currently second in the Bundesliga, level on points with leaders Bayern Munich and have already secured their qualification for next season's Champions League.
