Schalke rival Newcastle, Arsenal for Real Madrid's Owen

Michael Owen and Luis Figo will be among the galacticos to be offloaded by Real Madrid at the end of this season.

AS says Owen's demand that he is a regular starter is pushing him closer to the exit door at Real as president Florentino Perez insists on Ronaldo and Raul being the team's first-choice strikers.

Schalke 04 is the latest club to approach Real about the England international, who has impressed in his first season in Spain.

At 25, Real directors are convinced they can make a healthy profit on the £8 million they paid Liverpool for Owen last summer.

Along with Schalke, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Arsenal are also credited with interest in the striker.

Meanwhile, Figo will be handed a free transfer at the end of the season - 12 months before his current deal expires.

Real have ruled out renewing his contract, which is a mega £4 million-a-year. England is Figo's preferred destination with Liverpool and Tottenham among clubs to be tracking the Portuguese star.
