Saviola delighted with fresh Real Madrid chance

Javier Saviola was delighted with his scoring performance for Real Madrid in their victory at Athletic Bilbao.

The Argentina international was handed a rare start by coach Bernd Schuster and said yesterday: "I have every reason to smile again. I am very happy to be back playing again and helping the team at a time when we are close to winning a title."

"I said I wanted to succeed here and prove that I can play for Madrid."

"Until we finish the championship, I will not speak with the club. In this period, I will think about playing and nothing else. The desire to succeed and stay at Real Madrid is the same as always, but when the campaign finishes I will then speak with the coach and the directors."
