The French outfit have been busy rebuilding the squad and see Savio as the perfect addition to a team comprised mainly of fellow Brazilian players.
Savio has not enjoyed much first-team action this season after losing his place in the side to Steve McManaman. But Lately Del Bosque has been testing the former Flamengo star in place of Macca and the experiment seems to be producing results.
One thing is certain, Savio will not subject himself to another season out on the sidelines, the only question is whether Real would be willing to offload him.
Lyon will not encouter any problems incorporating Savio into a squad already overladen with foreign stars - he gained European Union status some time ago after marrying a French woman.
