Santos president: Real Madrid can't sign Robinho

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira insists winger Robinho will not be sold to Real Madrid anytime soon.

Robinho's agent, Juan Figer, is in Spain this week for talks with Real Madrid over Robinho's personal terms. But Teixeira says: "Santos has not authorised anyone to negotiate Robinho's transfer on our behalf."

"If Figer is in Spain, then it is not as Santos' representative."

The Santos president also revealed they would not consider selling Robinho for anything less than his £25 million buyout clause, "but no-one is interested in paying that price".

He added: "The player is wanted by many clubs and the pressure to sell is growing all the time. But Santos are in a strong position and will continue to resist because Robinho is important to us."
