Samuel close to Real Madrid debut

Real Madrid defender Walter Samuel is closer to winning his debut with the Spanish giants.

The Argentina international is recovering from knee injury, but has been able to start working with the ball in training this week.

Real medicos are pleased with his progress, with the next and final step being to have him join the rest of the squad for full-blown training.

Next week's Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen has been pencilled in as a possible chance for the ex-Lazio stopper to make his Real debut.
