Sampdoria confirm Real Madrid offer for Volpi

Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone has revealed they've turned down an offer from Real Madrid for midfielder Sergio Volpi.

"Real Madrid's offer is flattering for both the club and the player," said Garrone, "but we do not have any intention of entering negotiations."

Volpi, 30, emerged as a target for Real Madrid GM Arrigo Sacchi after an outstanding six months this season marshalling Samp's midfield.
