Sampdoria chief: Real Madrid's Cassano wants to stay

Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta admits they remain hopeful of signing permanently on-loan Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano.

He said: "It's a situation which we will investigate in detail in the coming weeks and months. But certainly we'll make an attempt to retain Cassano, although there are impediments as the asking price is very high."

"We will see then with the player, who has already expressed a desire to stay with us."
