Salgado Is Happy In Madrid

Chelsea and AC Milan's hopes of signing Real Madrid's outstanding Spanish international right-back Michel Salgado have been dented by the latest comments made by the player's agent.

Gines Carvajal has ackowledged that there is "plenty of interest" in his top client, whose contract at the Bernabeu expires at the end of the season, but insists that it is unlikely that Salgado will leave the Spanish capital.

"Michel is very happy in Madrid," said Carvajal, "but in life you have to evaluate many things. Especially in a profession like football."

"I am waiting for a call from Florentino Perez to know exactly what Real plan for the player."

"At 28 he wants a good contract for four years and nothing else from the club that he would sign for. The final decison is with Madrid."
