Salgado Destined To Join Chelsea

Real Madrid defender Salgado appears destined to join Chelsea if weekend newspaper reports are to be believed.

The Spanish international is out of contract at the end of the season and Real seem resigned to losing the full-back and have given him until the start of next week to accept the offer they have on the table.

Real's president Florentino Perez has recommended that Salgado joins Chelsea, who he claims have made a spectacular off, according to the Daily Star.

"If Michel was my son I would recommend that he sign for Chelsea," said Perez.

"He has until the start of next week to make his decision and accept a new contract."

"We have made a fantastic offer but we understand he has been made a spectacular offer."
