Salgado denies bust-up with Real Madrid teammates

Real Madrid fullback Michel Salgado has spoken out over reports of unrest within the squad.
 
Roberto Carlos' decision not to take his place on the captains table for Christmas lunch earlier this week fueled talk of the Brazilian's unhappiness. While, radio reports suggested a bust-up between Salgado and Pablo Garcia during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Osasuna.

Salgado, who was sat with Garcia, told AS yesterday: "It seems that now it is fashionable to create controversies."

"Not enough respect is shown to the players. The radio report spread that Pablo Garcia and I had a fight in the game against Osasuna and that Roberto Carlos did not want to sit at the captains table because he is not talking to me."

"The two things are totally untrue. If I have a relationship aside from the football one with someone from the group, it is with Roberto, whom I consider my friend."

"As far as the fight, it is totally untrue. For that reason Pablo Garcia is here with me."
