Sacchi wants Ancelotti at Real Madrid

One of Arrigo Sacchi's first actions as Real Madrid's new general manager will be to approach AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Sacchi's appointment as Real's first ever general manager was to be confirmed yesterday afternoon. The former Atletico Madrid coach us moving to Real from his position as technical director with Serie A's Parma.

Sacchi will be responsible for all football matters at Madrid and he already has Ancelotti in mind to become the club's new head coach for next season.

Agent Ernesto Bronzetti revealed: "Sacchi will have the same responsibility that Alex Ferguson has with Manchester United, but without sitting on the bench."

"Arrigo Sacchi will not have a coaching contract, but one similar to a director. He will have to reconstruct the technical sector of the club and their system from the juniors to the first team."
