Sacchi: I decide Real Madrid transfers

Real Madrid general manager Arrigo Sacchi has dismissed claims he has no say on transfers.
 
The raft of South Americans signed in the summer has led to suggestions that Sacchi has little influence over the players that come to Real Madrid.

But pulling his contract out of his desk draw, Sacchi told AS: "Look, in one of the clauses it is clear that among my responsibilities is to organize and plan the structure of the first team and the reserves."

"My main mission is to propose the signings we must make so the club increases it's sporting potential. I propose to the president the signings to make."

"Not Robinho, because I was not here, but the rest of the transfers I have spoken with (vice-president Emilio) Butragueño, the coach and the president. My opinion has been considered."

"Only one of them (believed to be Sergio Ramos) the president said to me after contracting him: 'There you have it. You will be happy. You asked me to sign him 120 times...'."
