Ronaldo tips Kahn for top honour

Former World Player of the Year Ronaldo has tipped Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to win this year's award.

The Internazionale striker admitted Roma's Francesco Totti and Real Madrid's Raul would also be in the running but said: "You should definitely keep on eye on Kahn."

Kahn's excellent form inspired Bayern to the Champions' League last season, his heroics in the San Siro penalty shoot out against Valencia being the highlight.

However, while he continues to excel at club level, his international form has been far from impressive as part of a mediocre Germany team.

Conceding five goals in Munich against England represented arguably the lowest point in his career and could count against him in the final reckoning.
