Ronaldo takes Real Madrid pal Benzema under his wing

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema under his wing.

While Benzema has grown close to the likes of Lassana Diarra and Ezequiel Garay, he has struck up a good friendship with Ronaldo, who has been credited for bringing the Frenchman out of his shell.

Indeed, such is Ronaldo's influence, that Benzema is now doing extra fitness work - just like the former Manchester United star.

Ronaldo is famous for his exercise regime, which includes doing sit-ups at all times of the day, including when watching telly.

Benzema is now embracing the same work ethic and has bought himself a home gym and treadmill which he hits every morning outside of match days.
