Ronaldo was rested from a Brazil training session on Wednesday afternoon after complaining of a pain in his lower back, team doctor Jose Luis Runco said.
Runco added that the problem was not serious and the Real Madrid striker, who has never played a World Cup qualifier before, would be fit in time for Sunday's game away to Colombia as Brazil begin the defence of their World Cup title.
"It's nothing serious and he will probably take part in tomorrow's training as usual," Runco said.
Brazil will be without midfielder Kleberson, who dislocated his shoulder playing for Manchester Unted on Sunday, and Ronaldinho, who is suspended after being sent off against Turkey in the Confederations Cup.
