Ronaldo pleased to get off mark for Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo was delighted to net his first goal for Real Madrid in last night's victory over Quito.

Ronaldo struck from the spot to open his Real account in the 4-2 win and said afterwards: "It was very good to score, I am very happy."

"I tried to score more, but sometimes you can't because your opponents do not let you."

Ronaldo played wide left and added: "Experiments, I can play the left side, right through to the center. Experiments, all experiments."

Real coach Manuel Pellegrini also said: "Cristiano can play on either flank. But as far as an analysis of his game, I will do that with him one-on-one."
