Ronaldo only welcome at Inter if he is happy there

Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldo is only welcome at Inter Milan if he is happy there, according to quotes attributed to Inter coach Hector Cuper in Sunday's Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

The Argentinian coach, who is preparing for Wednesday's European Champions League trip to Sporting Lisbon, was speaking on Spanish television and Gazzetta reported his comments.

"When an important player leaves, you always lose something. But you can get over it even if it concerns a player like Ronaldo," Cuper said.

"But a player should stay with a team only if he is really happy to remain because the real privilege for a club is to have happy people playing there."

He denied Ronaldo's wish to leave was because of a disagreement between them. Cuper, who arrived at Inter last season, said: "I want to make one thing absolutely clear. I have no bad relations with anyone at Inter, neither with Ronaldo, nor with any of the others."

Ronaldo, whose future has been the subject of intense speculation with media reports claiming Real Madrid are planning a bid to buy him, has been training apart from the main squad since arriving back in Milan on Tuesday.
