Ronaldo on Real Madrid debut: I'm nervous

Ronaldo has admitted to being "nervous" about the prospect of making his Real Madrid debut tonight against Alaves.

The Brazilian told AS, "I don't know how I'll feel, to be honest. I hope to feel good."

"I am sure that I will be a little nervous, but that's normal for any debut. It happened to me when I made my debut in the World Cup."

"I have a certain restlessness, but the nerves disappear when you get the ball for the first time."

"I hope to win the support of the people by playing well, scoring goals and showing my form to them."

Real teammate Luis Figo has no doubts of Ronaldo's impact.

"He'll score 20 goals this season," said the Portuguese winger.

"He'll bring to the team great quality, goals and lift Real Madrid's profile around the world even higher."
