Ronaldo and Steve McManaman were both missing from Real Madrid's celebratory tour of the Spanish capital on Monday.
Ronaldo scored two of Real's goals in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao, a win that sealed the club's 29th Spanish league title, but he was conspicuous by his absence the morning after the night before.
"Ronaldo has a fever," the striker's Brazilian international team mate Roberto Carlos explained to reporters.
There was no word from the club about McManaman's absence but Radio Marca reported that the English midfielder was "indisposed" after celebrating the title win overnight.
The Real players went straight from the scene of their triumph at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday night to the Cibeles square, where an estimated 200,000 Real fans gathered to celebrate the title win.
The squad then had a late dinner at a Madrid restaurant and had to report back at 1100 local time on Monday morning for two official local government receptions, another bus trip to Cibeles and a service at the Almudena cathedral.
