Ronaldo hints: Real Madrid fear Chelsea

Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has revealed he was fined last week for his unathorised trip to London because the Spanish club fears the influence of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

The Brazilian was given a slap on the wrist by Real for travelling to London without permission earlier this month.

"I am very, very happy at Real Madrid," insisted Ronaldo last night.

"Everything that is reported about my future are rumours. The club has not asked me for any explanation, since I went to London for a photo-shoot. But obviously they are scared because the Russian (Abramovich) is there and he wants to sign everyone."

Ronaldo added, "Abramovich has never contacted me, but if he has interest in me, it is always a good feeling to be valued."
