Ronaldo family celebrates as he quits Man Utd for Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo's family are celebrating his world record transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

The Portuguese star's godfather, Fernao Sousa, told AS: "The family is very happy and he's fulfilled a dream for all of us."

"Cristiano will happily go to Madrid."

"All of Madeira are celebrating. He has made a decision that will allow him to follow in the footsteps on Luis Figo."

Meanwhile, it's been revealed out of the staggering £80 million Real will pay United for Ronaldo, just £2 million will go to Sporting Lisbon as part of his development fee. It was Sousa who convinced Ronaldo to join Sporting as a youngster.
