Ronaldo faces action after skipping Real Madrid Centenary

Real Madrid will take action against Ronaldo after he skipped the club's Centenary celebrations early during the week.

The Brazilian's actions have caused great debate in Madrid and forced trainer Vicente del Bosque to make a statement on Friday.

"I do not believe that Ronaldo's actions last Wednesday has harmed the image of Real Madrid," said Del Bosque.

"It is important to remember the wonderful acts the players are always involved in, for example yesterday the visit to the hospital, which demonstrates their good will."

"I don't believe he offended anyone by leaving early."

Teammate Flavio also said, "Clearly you want to stay with your teammates on such occasions and I'm sure there was good reason why Ronaldo left early. He is happy in Madrid and enjoying life as a Real Madrid player."
