Ronaldo double sends Real Madrid back to top

Real Madrid are back at the top of the La Liga after a superb display at Valencia yesterday.

Real won 2-1 thanks to a brilliant double from Ronaldo. Fabio Aurelio grabbed Valencia's goal.

Afterwards, a delighted Real trainer Vicente del Bosque said: "It's an important result, no doubt about it. But there's still several games to play.

"Both teams had a number of chances to score and it was a very open game. After half-time we began to control the tempo more and kept Valencia away from our penalty area."

Asked about Ronaldo's brace, Del Bosque would only say: "It was a collective effort. The team has performed well as a unit."
