Roman Derby Over Solari?

According to the latest reports out of the Italian capital, AS Roma and SS Lazio are set to slug it out over the signature of Real Madrid's under-utilized Argentinean winger Santiago Solari.

The sweetly-skilled 26-year-old wide-man has always maintained that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu but the summer arrival of David Beckham -and the subsequent sliding down the totem pole- will severely test his loyalty.

Solari was close to signing for Inter last summer in the deal involving Ronaldo but the San Siro side balked at his wage demands. This, it should be pointed out, puts a serious question mark over whether either of the capital club's can afford him considering their precarious financial positions.
