Roma skipper Totti tells Real Madrid to wait

AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has told Real Madrid he won't consider joining them until after the European Championships.

Real have registered their interest in Totti with Roma, but the player does not want any distractions from his lead up to Euro2004 and won't consider his future until Italy's commitments are over.

Yesterday, Roma coach Fabio Capello told Totti to focus all his attentions on the pitch, saying: "There are things that shouldn't be commented on in public."

"The players must play and the club leaders must direct."
