Roma chief: Real Madrid ahead of Chelsea for Samuel

AS Roma chief Franco Baldini has revealed Real Madrid are ahead of Chelsea in negotiations for defender Walter Samuel.

"Another possible departure for Roma is the defender Walter Samuel," stated Baldini yesterday. "For him we have received many offers; at the moment Real Madrid is in a slight advantage."

"That is also because it is the preferred destination of the player."
