Roma chief makes tentative Real Madrid contact over Cassano

AS Roma have made contact with Real Madrid over the future of Antonio Cassano.

The club's finances means they must make a significant sale this summer and Roma director general Franco Baldini has invited Real to bid for Cassano.

Baldini has made tentative contact, aware that Real are in the market for a new striker with Fernando Morientes and Javier Portillo both expected to leave before the season kickoff.

Roma value Cassano in the £10 million range.
