Roma accept Real Madrid bid for Chivu

Roma have accepted a £13 million offer from Real Madrid for defender Cristian Chivu.

"We have accepted their offer," said Roma chief Rosella Sensi last night. "However, the successful completion of the operation is now dependant on the player's personal desire."

Real Madrid made a decisive move for the Romanian after Inter Milan pulled out of the race to sign him this week.
