Robinho: This One Is For My Son

Real Madrid forward Robinho was delighted with his contribution in the 2-0 win over Real Madrid, and dedicated his goal to his newly born son.

Real Madrid ran into some heavy weather at the Bernabeu as Real Zaragoza piled on the pressure.

However, Los Merengues survived the onslaught thanks to Iker Casillas, and then had Robinho to thank for a moment of magic as he set up Ruud van Nistelrooy for the opening goal.

He then scored a superb individual goal on the break to seal the win.

“I'm improving," he told RealmadridTV after the game. "I want to continue helping my team and scoring goals. I think we're all important."

"Schuster has faith in me and I have to continue playing at this level.”

On the team's overall display, he said: "We made several passing mistakes in the first half. We suffered, but finally managed to win."

"We've got a good lead in the table, but it means nothing right now. There are many more matches to come. Let's just hope we stay on track."

There was also praise for Guti, who improved Real Madrid's offensive potential coming on as a substitute for Wesley Sneijder.

"Guti is incredible and we know he can decide matches," beamed the Brazilian. "Whether he starts or not is up to the boss. We fought hard for this win.”

His goal celebrations made it clear whom he had in his mind, but the newly turned father was in no mood to leave any doubts: “I dedicated the goal to my son."
