Robinho's agent could wreck Santos battle with Real Madrid

The agent of Robinho is ready to wreck Santos' plans to keep the winger away from Real Madrid.
 
A frustrated Real president Florentino Perez has sent two high-ranking representatives to Brazil to speak with Santos president Marcelo Teixeira face-to-face and try and break the deadlock in negotiations over a fee for Robinho.

Real have offered £17 million for Robinho, while Teixeira is refusing to budge from his £19.5 million valuation.

However, Robinho's agent Wagner Ribeiro is ready to wreck Teixeira's plans by invoking the 'Pele Law', which allows a player to join another Brazilian club for 40 per cent of his buyout clause in the third year of his contract and 80 per cent in the fourth year.

This would be disastrous for Teixeira, who would lose millions if Ribeiro can find a Brazilian rival willing to participate and immediately sell Robinho onto Real Madrid.
