Robinho rejects mega Chelsea offer for Real Madrid

Real Madrid accelerated talks with Santos over midfielder Robinho yesterday.

After striking a deal with his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, over the weekend, Real president Florentino Perez will now push for an agreement over a transfer fee with the youngster's club, Santos.

A Santos delegation are expected in Madrid on Wednesday and will seek £15 million for Robinho's transfer. The Brazilian club own 60 per cent of his registration, with the rest belonging to a management group.

Robinho is prepared to sign for Real for less than the £2.5 million-a-year Chelsea have offered him. The Brazilian international is also close pals with Ronaldo, who has been constantly on the phone urging him to snub England and join him in Madrid next season.
