Robinho rejected Real Madrid contract offer

Robinho has rejected a new contract offer from Real Madrid.

AS says the Brazilian's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, turned down the offer when in talks with Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic on July 21.

Robinho was seeking £4 million-a-year and Real's offer of £2.5 million rising to £3 million over five years fell well short of expectations.

Despite the deadlock, Mijatovic and his fellow Real directors are convinced Robinho would prefer to stay in Madrid than accept a mega bucks move to Chelsea.
