Robinho in no hurry to leave Santos

Santos forward Robinho has again refused to be drawn on how long he will stay with the Brazilian champions and says his future belongs to God.

The 21-year-old, the subject of constant speculation over a move to a major European club, said he was concentrating on helping Santos progress in the South American Libertadores Cup.

"I don't want to rush into any decisions," he told reporters during a Santos training session. "My thoughts are on helping Santos qualify for the next stage of the Libertadores. I can't forget about the start of the Brazilian championship, either."

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira advised Robinho on Tuesday to stay at the club until the 2006 World Cup. Teixeira said that Robinho could lose his place in the Brazil squad if he moved abroad this year.

"A transfer to Europe would need adaptation to new customs and food, among other things," Teixeira said. "This would need time. Going abroad could hurt his chances of being picked for the qualifying matches and the World Cup itself."

Robinho has again been in excellent form this season and gave a virtuoso display last week as Santos beat Ecuador's LDU 3-1 to revive their campaign in the South American Libertadores Cup.
